Strapped.

Hello hello! Snatched up this slip dress in the sale section at Urban Outfitters this past weekend. Major score! The sheer detailing makes for such a unique LBD, but so versatile at the same time. As soon as I tried it on, I immediately envisioned all the different ways I was going to style it! The weather was basically perfect this weekend so I took it out for a spin and paired it with these intense spartan sandals for a more edgy look. I armed myself with some heavy metal jewelry to complete the gladiator inspired look!

Sleek Stripes

Hello hello! I'm so excited about the weather right now! Sure, it's still 85 degrees+ in some parts of LA, but it was cool enough this morning for me to finally enjoy this sweater and my favorite fall leggings. Yes, I'm wearing the black brimmed hat again but it puts me in such a fall mood. All I need now is a pile of crunchy leaves to jump in to!

Borrowed from the Boys

If boys are good for one thing, it would have to be their clothes. From soft tees to baggy fit jeans to larger than life watches, menswear will forever be a staple in my wardrobe. It lets me get away with being ultra-comfy, all while staying chic. With autumn on the way, it's time to bust out the cozy flannels, and there ain't anything cozier than a lived-in boyfriend flannel. I paired mine with my fave pair of ripped boyfriend jeans but spruced up the look with a felt hat and some heeled booties. I've been seeing menswear inspired prints everywhere and can't wait to try them out for myself! What's your favorite boyfriend look?

Printed.

sweater Mango / shorts LF / heels Sam&Libby / bag Chanel

The crazy heat wave has finally ended! And just in time for the Fall Fashion event at the Beverly Center yesterday where I had the pleasure of meeting superstar bloggers, Aimee Song and Chriselle Lim. You can bet I fangirled. Hard. They were both so friendly and genuine, it was hard not to!
Since it was supposed to be about fall fashion, I did what I could with the 90 degree weather and went with a fitted sweater and shorts. I'm a huge advocate for mixed prints (although, mixed within reason) and stuck with a more monochrome look to keep them a little more subtle. I find the trick to not overdoing it, is to keep the prints within the same color family. It's a great trend for the cooler seasons especially because there are so many more prints and textures to play around with. Definitely something I'll be experimenting with in the coming months!

Have a great weekend!

Smooth Criminal

top Blue Kimchi / trousers Zara / heels Halogen / clutch Sam&Libby / sunnies MinkPink

I don't know about you guys, but getting ready in the mornings is always a huge struggle. The majority of my morning is spent picking out an outfit only to end up with half my closet strewn on the floor! I try to be good about planning my outfits the night before, but even then I still find myself changing my mind. So for those mornings where nothing seems to fit or look right, my solution is all black everythang. Head to toe black is instantly chic and looks flattering on everyone! Granted, these trousers have navy blue color blocking, but you get the gist. Today, I went with silky top and trousers for a sleeker look. The satin piping down the leg is so elongating, and for added leg length, I donned my black calf hair pumps. Overall, any monochromatic look is an easy quick fix for outfit hurdles. What's your go-to look?

Frisky Florals

I've got a small confession to make... I fell victim to the LF sale again. Popped in the store this past weekend, honestly thinking that I'd seen everything the first time I went until I found a couple little gems! As soon as I saw this fun floral dress, I knew I had to have it! I love the contrast between the graphic floral print and the tough mesh sleeves. To keep on with the badassery, I paired it with this edgy fringe clutch with a brass knuckle handle and knee-high gladiators. As a second option, I threw on some strappy pumps to soften up the look and make it a little more ladylike. It was the perfect dress to help me beat this heat!

Flirting with Flare

top LF / bottoms Brandy Melville / necklace F21

Happy Friday everyone! This week flew by, but I can't say I'm not happy it's the weekend. I know I talk about the weather in like every post, but I just can't get over how hot it's been, especially during mid-September! And it looks like we're due for another heat wave this weekend too.
I love summer looks, but putting together work appropriate outfits that will keep me from overheating has been particularly challenging. And although I work in a creative environment, I try not to overexpose, so I went with this textured crop and breezy trouser. The high neck and waist lines make for a more demure crop, keeping exposure to a minimum. To tie the look together, I added a braided leather belt, my favorite watch, and a bold red lip to add a pop of color to the monochrome. These wide leg trousers are definitely one of my go-to pieces, they add just the right touch of sophistication and are ultra-comfy!

Frenchie

blouse Frenchie / skirt F21 / heels Shoemint / necklace Threadsence

Bon Jour! I did a little shopping at Nordy's this past weekend and found this adorable blouse in the sale section ($22!!). It's not a top I would typically reach for as my style is far from feminine, but what really got me to take it into the dressing room was the material. True to Frenchie style, it was amazingly soft and buttery so I thought I would give it a shot. And I'm so glad I did because I already know it's going to be a piece that I'll be reaching for this fall.
It's got a romantic, Lolita-esque feel with its scalloped edge, high neckline, and dainty details, so I paired it with this flirty trumpet hem to keep the look soft. To give the look a more autumn vibe, I took to the woods and went with a purple toned lip and violet nails (it's honestly the best I can do in this LA weather). There's something about deep hues and soft silhouettes that gets me so excited about the fall, I seriously can't wait until sweater weather!
