What's In My Glam Bag?! | April 2014

Hello beautiful ladies!

It's one of my favorite times of the month again! My super cute April Ipsy Glam Bag has arrived and I am SO happy with all the goodies I found inside. I have to say that sometimes the glam bags can be a hit or miss, but I think Ipsy usually does a great job of staying consistent with quality products. (Thanks to Michele Phan)

Urban Decay | 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Black Velvet
St. Tropez | Gradual Tan Multi-Action Face
Elizabeth Mott | Pop! Goes the Shadow in Champagne
Cailyn | Tinted Lip Balm in 12. Apple Pink
Dr. Brandt | Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant

I was so excited when I saw the Urban Decay eyeliner because I have been wanting to try it so bad and haven't found the time to buy it. I absolutely love it and it really does stay on all day without smudging. The same goes for St. Tropez gradual tan face lotion! I heard St. Tropez products are all really good but on the pricier side. I haven't seen too much of a change in face color, but then again I've only used it twice. I'll be sure to let you know if it does work. The shadow is a perfect shimmery neutral, but I do wish I had gotten a more fun color for the spring since I have so many similar colors. As for the lip balm, the skinny top part is a brush! It's not super pigmented but I love that it gives a hint of color to a bare lip. My glam bags have only gotten better with time and I can't wait for next months!

Patti

Spring Florals

Top & Trouser: Nordstrom | Shoes: Shoemint | Bag: Dailylook

I let the pants shine as my statement piece and went with classic white and black shades as accents. For my top, I picked a slightly more dressy version of a t-shirt and did a little front tuck just to keep the look more polished. I also used my accessories and shoes to dress up the pants, since track pants tend to look slightly sloppier. Unfortunately, I'm such a baby and hate when garment tags itch and cut them out of my top and my trousers. But I did manage to find similar pants here. I hope you're all enjoying the springtime as much as I am!

Patti

Hello my loves!
Nothing means spring time like Easter Sunday. So whether you're going to Easter service, Easter brunch, or just Easter egg hunting, it's the perfect occasion to put on that pretty pastel number. These are some that I've found while browsing on Shopbop and I thought they would be perfect for all different kinds of Easter festivities. Just throw on a sun hat and some wedges and you're good to go! The flirty hems and fun colors put me in such a good mood and I love that you can wear them anytime during the season. I hope all of you have a fabulous weekend!

XO,
Patti

P.S. SHOPBOP is having their Friends & Family sale so that means 25% off! Go get you some! :)

Festival Fashion: Jewelry

Hello my loves!

Continuing with the festival fever, I thought I would share with you all some of my favorite accessories. I wish I could list where I got them, but I've made and collected them over time and can't remember where I got most of them. But fear not, THREADSENCE has a great selection of accessories for great prices! The great thing about accessorizing for music festivals is that anything goes! Don't be afraid to put that bling on bling, it's all about layering and stacking.

Tip: If you're stuck in a last minute squeeze or want to wear something unique, just head to your nearest craft store and grab some stone beads and stretchy string then you're set!

Let your bling shine ladies!

Festival Essentials

It's the most wonderful time of the year!  With Coachella right around the corner, everything fringe has been popping up in stores and online. And just like the Christmas music, it gives me tingles because it means that festie season is upon us once again. So it's time to let your inner hippie loose. Bohemian trends are hotter than ever so don't be afraid to pile on bracelets, necklaces, and rings. Unfortunately for me, Coachella is a No-chella this year thanks to work but that doesn't mean I can't give in to the festie trends.
True to hippie spirit, less is more. Since festivals mean long hours dancing under the sun, you want to be prepared but avoid carrying heavy loads. These are my go-to essentials for any festival and it all fits in my trusty fringe cross-body.
As much as I love my post-festie bronze, I can't stress how important UV protection is! Sunnies, sunblock, and chapstick are a must because there's a fine line between being bronzed and burnt. And nothing's worse than being burnt AND crisped so don't forget to hydrate with H2O (booze doesn't count)! Cash and cell phone are obvious, but portable chargers are SO handy. (TJMaxx $15)

I'd love to hear about your festival essentials so let me know in the comments!

Patti
